SB041 Enables a VPN when using public Wi-Fi
Data sent over a public Wi-Fi network is at greater risk of being intercepted. A Virtual Private Network (or VPN) makes your connection more secure by encrypting the data sent to and from your device. Enabling a VPN while using public Wi-Fi prevents data from being read.
Why is it important?
Data is valuable and important to a business. Some apps and webpages may communicate unsafely. This can be dangerous as attackers on the same network may take advantage of this.
After downloading a VPN, making sure its enabled when the device is connected to an unsecured network. Any data sent from the device over network will become scrambled and unreadable.
Priority Tier
Behaviours in SebDB are ranked by their impact on risk. Tier 1 behaviours have the biggest impact, Tier 4 behaviours the least.
